Precision HRT: A Personalized Approach to Women's Hormone Health

At Gingko, we approach our clinical inquiry into each woman's physiology by "asking" via lab assessment and in-depth interview how she is unique. While we delight in more women gaining access to HRT (hormone replacement therapy), our niche is to make that prescription precise, organized around her physiologic needs. We don't apply protocols or rely on guesswork.

Clinically it is common to see women who have received HRT without any workup — no baseline labs, no consideration of her sensitivities. They often present to us feeling less than their best. We also see women with family histories or health backgrounds that make sorting out the question of how or if to apply HRT nuanced. Our objective? Informed by the Hippocratic oath of "do no harm"— therapies we add are considered with her precise data in mind FIRST.

HRT in our hands begins with patients' goals and proceeds with assessment.

We look at how her body processes estrogen (there are 3 pathways, one of which is favorable and the other two may require mitigation). We assess what metabolite of progesterone predominates in her body and how impactful that will be on supporting her nervous system. We add blood testing to see her propensity to inflammation, metabolic disturbance, capacity to detoxify and tendency to anemias. Putting these pieces together, we tailor prescriptions to optimize her specific "landscape". With testing, we establish objective benchmarks. Walking with her collaboratively across the ensuing years, we refer to these baselines to "check our work", assured we are making innovations to improve her physiology rather than burdening it.  As seasoned clinical detectives, we focus longitudinally on verifying our results.

From DUTCH testing, blood tests, genetic assessment, DEXA scans and microbiome evaluation, we are intent on exposing each woman's targets for support. Rigorous, precision medicine is our unwavering philosophy.

Starting Sept 1, our Functional medicine follow up rates will rise in deference to provider time applied to synthesize visit findings and develop thoughtful treatment plans. The follow-up 45 min FM visit will be billed at $250 and the 30 min abbreviated visit will be $200. Thank you for your ongoing support of our personalized strategies for care.

Nothing honors us more than your referrals.
